Refurbished Ships Offer New Levels of Elegance

For returning Regent Seven Seas Cruises guests, the first phase of the line's $40 million refurbishment of the all-suite, all-balcony luxury Seven Seas Voyager and Seven Seas Mariner has elevated these already marvelous ships into the realm of the extraordinary.

While Seven Seas Voyager and Seven Seas Mariner launched in 2003 and 2001, respectively, would never be considered "old" by cruise standards, their interiors were freshened and updated to add desirable features and create an air of contemporary elegance and boutique style.

"Both ships have never looked better; they are nothing short of stunning," said Mark Conroy, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. "Seven Seas Voyager and Mariner each set the benchmark for ultra-luxury cruising when they were introduced. They are now setting new standards and are undoubtedly the most beautiful vessels in the industry," he added.

Mr. Conroy is referring to the ships' fresh and elegant ambiance, as well as their sophisticated and inviting public spaces, furnishings and appointments throughout. Lavish refurbishments are now apparent throughout, and new color palettes have transformed familiar favorites. Signatures restaurant now features bold jewel tones, the formal Compass Rose restaurant is appointed in elegant chablis and merlot tones, and the Observation Lounge offers the tranquil colors of sand and sea.

Both ships also feature new lounge areas and several new dining spaces, both casual and elegant. Guests who crave quick and tasty meals and snacks can satisfy their urges with hot slices of freshly-baked pizza from an authentic pizza oven, as well as scrumptious frozen creations from an ice cream bar. And for guests seeking a superior steakhouse experience, both ships are now home to the elegant, reservations-only Prime 7 (see related article).

The second phase of the refurbishment program entails a similar makeover for Seven Seas Navigator, the third ship in the Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet. It is scheduled to take place in January 2010.
